2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Session – The Power of You with Life-Work Balance
Presented by Sabrina Cadini

Wellness has become synonymous with success, and we all wish to lead more balanced, happy, and productive lives. But busyness is still the norm in our modern society: we're working more but getting less done and we often find ourselves pulled in different directions without time for ourselves. We eventually concluded that “feeling exhausted” is normal. It may be common, but it’s not normal.

Sabrina Cadini will guide the audience through the Harmony Compass, a 6-pillar framework that focuses on nutrition, movement, sleep, stress/anxiety/burnout management, self-care, social connections, and time optimization.

Attendees will be able to identify what is preventing them from achieving their goals, gain a deeper knowledge of themselves, and leave with actionable steps to create their own Life-Work Balance Toolbox -  a customized set of habits and strategies to improve their well-being, be more present, increase productivity and deliver results in the workplace.
3:15 pm - 4:15 pm Session – AHCAP Member Panel
Presenters Judi Sensenbrenner, Ohio Hospital Association, and Jeannie Thomas, University of Nebraska Medical Center; Moderated by Kim Williams, The University of North Texas

Learn tricks of the trade from some of AHCAP's experienced Executive Assistants. Panelists from a healthcare facility, a health system and a state hospital association will lead this open forum to answer your questions and share information that will help you be the best assistant you can be.
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm First Timers Gathering (formerly the New Members Reception) by invitation only

We will gather our first time attendees and newest members with our leadership for an informal gathering and getting to know you.
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm Member Appreciation Dinner

We will wrap the first day of our conference with a big dinner. Bring your dancing shoes because the DJ will be ready for us to hit the dance floor! Guest tickets are available for this dinner: $100 with a drink ticket and $75 without a drink ticket.
7:45 am - 8:45 am Breakfast
8:45 am - 10:15 am Session - Leadership Bingo
Presented by Sandy Geroux

Whether titled or untitled, your success depends on your ability to objectively assess and evolve your leadership style, behaviors, and consistency to meet the demands of an ever-changing workforce. Join Sandy for this fast-paced, interactive, and FUN session, where you will play a round of her proprietary leadership assessment tool, Leadership Bingo™. You will receive 25+ ideas on a Bingo card you can take with you to remind yourself of what you should do every day.

After this program, attendees will:
  • Understand the importance of consistency in their behavior toward their teams
  • Recognize their leadership strengths and “blind spots” (identified by gaps on the Bingo card)
  • Use tips and ideas gained during the program to connect with and inspire team members to engage
10:30 am - 11:30 am Session - Seizing the Power of Now
Presented by Ingrid Ricks

Paralyzed by grief and fear over the future that awaited her, Ingrid Ricks, who had recently lost her vision to a blinding eye disease, realized she had a choice: continue to let despair and terror imprison her, or radically shift her mindset, give negative stories the boot and tap the power of Now to reclaim her life.

In her action-provoking talk, Ingrid takes audiences on her transformational journey and arms them with the tools they need to leverage the Now and the power of their mind to create the life they want — regardless of the challenges they face. She’ll help you:
  • Flip negative stories
  • Strip fear of its power
  • Harness adversity
  • Adapt to change
  • Go for it - whatever IT is
11:45 am - 1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm Session – Building Strong Communities as Healthcare Administrative Professionals
Presented by Catherine White

Healthcare administrative professionals have a very important role as they tirelessly work behind the scenes to ensure their organization is running smoothly. But their influence, often gone unrecognized, doesn’t end with managing policies, processes, and patients. The impact they make in their organization ripples out into their communities, and they can make the world a better place through their individual leadership.

In “Building Strong Communities”, your members will learn how to use our signature system - P.O.W.E.R.R.® - to:
  • Gain a greater appreciation for the work they do
  • Make a stronger impact in their organizations
  • Build a positive influence within their communities
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm City Scavenger Hunt

On our app-led outdoor scavenger hunt, you’ll explore Bellevue like never before. Walk from landmark to landmark to discover art, culture and history. Search plaques, statues and art to solve riddles that can only be found on location. If you can’t find the answer we’ll guide you to the next location.

AHCAP conference registrants will be split into teams and venture out to answer trivia questions and complete photo challenges. Earn extra points for each hidden treasure you find and photo your team takes. Can your team beat the Bellevue high score?

Please wear comfortable shoes, athletic wear and a jacket.
  Open Evening
7:45 am - 8:45 am Breakfast
8:45 am - 10:15 am Session - Fostering Teamwork and Effective Communication Using Personality Lingo
Presented by Sandy Geroux

Imagine a world where people understand your way of doing things. Better yet, you understand why they do things so differently from you (and each other) so you know exactly how to communicate with them to build relationships, foster teamwork and get things done. In this program, Sandy will guide us through four personality styles (identified by colors and identifying descriptors) and help us understand the “lingo” that is natural to each style.

Through stories, examples and tips, she’ll illustrate how we can bring out the best in each other instead of driving each other crazy! You’ll identify your own true personality style and that of your leaders, colleagues and clients, allowing you to enhance your communications and reduce stress – not only at work, but at home and in your communities, as well!

After this program, attendees will:
  • Recognize their dominant personality styles and understand the core values that drive them.
  • Utilize new behaviors and approaches to others based on a higher understanding of what drives them.
  • Break down barriers to effective communication in and out of the workplace.
  • Build a work culture that honors differences, rather than struggling against them.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO PREPARE FOR CONFERENCE

If you have questions about the conference not addressed below, please email AHCAP Headquarters at ahcap@hqtrs.com.

CONFERENCE JUSTIFICATION TOOLKIT

The AHCAP Educational Conference is the only annual educational event dedicated specifically to healthcare administrative professionals. It provides targeted continuing education for healthcare EAs, delivered by healthcare experts. To convince your boss that you need to attend, just use our Conference Justification Toolkit which you can access here.

CONFERENCE ATTIRE/WEATHER

The conference attire is "snappy casual". This is jeans and a dressy top for women, or a shirt and cardigan for men. For women, a “snappy casual” outfit does not need to incorporate jeans or pants, but could also involve wearing a skirt and matching top or a dress. For men, a jacket or blazer is not too fancy for snappy casual when paired with dark pants. It is worth noting that a tie is completely optional for this style of dress.

Conference rooms can be chilly so a light sweater or layers is recommended. The average temperature in Bellevue in October is between 63-67.

We will have a City Scavenger Hunt networking event outside so please bring comfortable shoes, athletic wear and a jacket.

DISTRIBUTION OF PUBLICATIONS AND PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS

Distribution of brochures, fact sheets, advertising, industry publications and promotional materials is not allowed during the conference except for companies participating in the official conference sponsorship program. Distribution of these materials by sponsors is allowed only within the guidelines of the sponsorship program.

SCHEDULING NON-AHCAP FUNCTIONS

Events that conflict with officially sponsored AHCAP events or educational programming are not allowed during the conference. This includes hospitality suites, special breakfasts, focus groups or similar events.
